Our beautiful fishing lake is just half a minutes walk from the holiday cottages and offers spectacular coarse fishing to suit all needs and levels of skill from specimen carp angling to challenge even the most seasoned angler to abundant small silver fish for the casual or beginner angler. There is also excellent tench fishing, pike fishing and the once in a lifetime chance of incredible roach, rudd or perch to almost 4lbs.
Wagland Farm Cottages are set in a beautiful rural location offering idyllic countryside self catering holidays with miles of nature walks and many wide maintained paths through it's valley of woods, pasture, streams and ponds. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the diverse variety of wildlife including buzzards, kestrel, merlin, hare, deer, badgers and rare birds such as woodcock, snipe and greater and lesser horseshoe bats.

South Devon Beaches and Beach Activity Holidays

Wagland Farm Cottages are well situated for beach holidays with a varied selection of South Devon's finest beaches from 15-30 minutes drive.

Blackpool Sands

is one the most well known and popular beaches in the area and is approximately 15 minutes by car offering excellent water quality ideal for swimming, a renowned beach cafe and evening restaurant, beach shops, water sports and ample parking right by the beach.

Valley Beach

Only half a mile around the coast from Blackpool sands Valley Beach offers a very different experience. Small and secluded and incredibly beautiful it's a perfect swimming beach and rarely has more than a handful of people. There is a steep walk down and limited parking but it's well worth the effort.

Slapton Sands

Slapton Sands was made famous during the World War 2 as the beach chosen to practice the D Day landings. Slapton's miles of shingle offer excellent beach fishing, swimming, fish & chip restaurant, a good fish restaurant and a cafe. Immediately behind the beach separated only by a few metres of land and the coastal road is the magnificent Slapton Ley, a 3 mile long natural lake protected by the , loved by bird watchers and naturists alike.

Lannacombe Beach

Lannacombe beach is one of the most beautiful and varried beaches on the South Devon coast. Offering sweeping flat golden sand it's perfect for beach games, an excellent swimming and surfing beach and is surrounded by rocky shore providing great fishing for Bass and other rock fish and rock pooling for children. Lannacombe beach is also surrounded by some of the most beautiful and dramatic coastal walks to be found in the South West.

Bantham Beach

Bantham beach offers a huge flat expance of beautiful sand and is without doubt the best surfing and beach in the area. Due to it's size Batham is also perfect for wind surfing, kite surfing and other extreme beach sports. Bantham beach also backs onto pictureque sand dunes behind which is plenty of parking.
